Branch Supervisor (1997 - 2001)
Oversaw the daily operations of the Moncton office of Wallace Equipment Limited, a full-service John Deere Construction and Forestry Equipment dealership. Total staff averaged ten persons from three departments (Sales, Parts, and Service). On-site facilities included a reception area and parts counter, parts inventory storage, three drive-through service bays, and outside equipment display and storage areas. Total branch revenue averaged approximately $5 million per year.
Created and maintained a Used Equipment database of pictures, specifications, and other information on the condition of the used equipment inventory. Information from the database was distributed to Sales Staff as well as to equipment dealers and brokers throughout North America.
Attended John Deere's "Used Equipment Management Seminar" (1998).
Inspector (1993 - 1996)
Site inspector for the New Brunswick Department of Transportation. Worked on three highway grading projects as part of the twinning of the Trans-Canada Highway through south-eastern NB. Also worked on several minor projects in the District 3 (Moncton) area. Employment was casual, approximately 6 months per year (May to November), from 1993 to 1996 inclusive.
Responsibilities included:
- Ensuring contractors' compliance with DOT plans and specifications.
- Coordinating efforts between contractors and DOT survey crews.
- Acting as liaison between contractors and resident engineers.
- Maintaining daily construction and material quantity reports.
- Supervising DOT checkers and scale-men.
Instructor (1994 - 1995)
Instructor in the Civil Engineering Technology Department, New Brunswick Community College, Moncton. Worked on three contracts, sponsored by the NB Roadbuilders Association, offering contractors' superintendents a 4-week course providing basic engineering theory, survey skills, and a comprehension of plans and specifications. One course was offered in 1994, and two in 1995.
Responsibilities included:
- Curriculum development.
- Preparation of course material.
- Coordination of internal staff and outside consultants.
- Classroom instruction of several topics.
Also, in 1995, instructed in the regular Civil Engineering Technology program for approximately 6 weeks, substituting for a full-time instructor away on medical leave.

- Norampac, Moncton, NB: production worker (full-time), September 2005 - present.
- Brunswick News Inc., Moncton, NB: production worker (part-time), August 2004 - September 2005.
- 3D Design Inc., Moncton, NB: various duties at a structural engineering and steel detailing company, from September to December 2002. Responsibilities included: the initial development of a company website; assisting with the electronic archiving of plans and documents; assisting with the preparation of plans and documents; and clerical work.
- Civil Engineering Department, University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, NB: laboratory assistant and student marker in 1990 and 1991 for courses in Surveying, Technical Writing, and Materials for Civil Engineering. Student employment.
- SMA Engineering Ltd. (now SGE Acres), Moncton, NB: inspector, 1990 and 1991, on municipal water and wastewater projects in the Moncton area. Student employment.
- City of Moncton Engineering Department, Moncton, NB: survey crew, 1988 and 1989. Started as a rod-and-chainman but often served as instrument man and crew chief, especially during the second year. Student employment.
- R.L. Crain Ltd. (now Crain-Drummond), Moncton, NB: Equipment operator and janitorial work, 1986-1988. Operated cutting, gluing, and rewinding machines. Cleaned plant and equipment during maintenance and annual shut-down. Assisted with inventory counts. Other odd jobs as required. Part-time and summer employment.

- NB Genealogical Society: Director, Southeastern Branch. Education Committee member and lecturer. Designed, and maintain, an upgrade to the NBGS website. (2003-2007).
