This will be the fifth book in my series on vital statistics from Prince Edward Island newspapers, following my previous compilations from the Herald, the Vindicator, and the Palladium.
This book will contain all birth, marriage, and death notices that appear in surviving issues of the Royal Gazette & Miscellany of the Island of Saint John newspaper (these have already been transcribed and posted to this website, and can be viewed here). It will also contain all of the local news that was published in each issue of the Royal Gazette & Miscellany under the "Charlottetown" heading. I hope the combination of vital statistics and local news, compiled in a single volume, cross-referenced, and indexed, will be of use to genealogists and historians alike.
Please note that this volume does differ from my other compilations as it concentrates more on local news and advertisements than on vital statistics, due mainly to the small number of birth, marriage, and death notices it contains.
Work on this book is on-going. I have not set a date for publication but hope to have it ready by Fall 2005. The price has not yet been established.
