Sacred Heart RC, Alberton, PEI - Parish Register Indices, 1879-1901

The following indices have been transcribed from the church register for the Roman Catholic Parish of Sacred Heart, Alberton, Prince Edward Island. The data was obtained from a microfilm (F-2044) of the original held by the Centre d'études acadiennes Anselme-Chiasson, Université de Moncton.

The indices appear to have been compiled by Father Phelan McKenna sometime during his tenure as parish priest at Alberton. They include an "Index of Baptisms, 1879-1899" on pages 108-112; a "Marriages Index, 1879-1899", on pages 112-113; "Marriages, 1900" on page 113; "Baptisms, 1900" on page 114; a continuation to "Marriages, 1900" on page 119; the start of "Marriages 1901" on page 119; and, finally, "Burials, 1900" on page 119. Pages 115 to 119 of the register have been blocked out on the microfilm, and it is presumed they contain post-1900 data that is not generally available to the public on microfilm.

It is important to note that the following files are indices only and do not contain all of the information that is present in the original records. For further information on the events and individuals referenced here, please consult the original church register or microfilmed copies thereof. The microfilmed copies can be viewed at the Centre d'études acadiennes in Moncton, New Brunswick, as well as the Public Archives and Records Office in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Requests for post-1900 records should be directed to either the Parish Office in Alberton or the Diocesan Archivist in Charlottetown.

Unless otherwise noted, the following files are presented in the same format and using the same spelling as appears in the original indices.

Please note that I am unable to provide look-up services for the information contained here. I DO NOT have any further information on the individuals named within.

St. Jean-Baptiste de Belle Alliance RC, Miscouche, PEI - Assorted Baptism Records, 1836 - 1887

The following records have been transcribed from the church register for the Roman Catholic Parish of St. Jean-Baptiste de Belle Alliance (St. John the Baptist), Miscouche, Prince Edward Island. The data was obtained from Microfilm F-2061, Centre d'études acadiennes Anselme-Chiasson, Université de Moncton and/or photocopies of the register held by the same institution.

This is not a complete transcript of the records. Instead, it contains select entries, with an emphasis on the Gaudet surname, that were copied for my personal research. Obviously, the original register includes many more entries for surnames that fall outside of my research.

Please note: I am unable to provide look-up services for the information contained here and I may not have any further information on the individuals named within.
