I have in my possession only pages 13 to 20 of this particular issue. The only vital statistics appearing on those pages are the funeral notices.

The following entries are written as they appear in the original newspaper. I have not altered the spelling or grammar. I DO NOT have any further information on any of the people named below.

Funeral Notices

MURDOCK - The funeral for Murdock A. MacLeod was held Monday, Dec. 6, 1976 from the MacLean Funeral Home where service was conducted by Rev. J. Elmer MacLean and Rev. Donald Nicholson. During the service Rev. Donald Nicholson sang Beyond the Sunset. Humns sung were: All the Way My Savious Leads Me and Breath On Me, Breath of God. Organist was Florence Simmons. Pallbearers were: John MacKenzie, Howard MacLennan, Lloyd MacLeod, Everett Nicholson and Leonard Bowman. Flowerbearers were: Carl MacLeod, Allison MacLeod, Orville MacLeod, Rodney MacLean, Donald MacLennan and Malcolm MacInnis. Interment took place in Hartsville Cemetery.

HERMANN - The funeral for John Hermann was held Monday, Dec. 6, 1976 from the MacLean Funeral Home where service was conducted by Capt. George Swaddling. During the service Marilyn MacDonald sang Yes Jesus Took My Burden. Hymns sung were Rock of Ages and Safe In The Arms of Jesus. Organist was Marilyn MacDonald. Organizations in attendance were Moore and MacLeod Ltd. and Salvation Army. Pallbearers were Edward Downe, Russell Downe, Robert Downe, Holly Crockett, Sid, Clay, and Ira MacDonald. Flowerbearers were Edison Smith, Edison Wood, Reuben Cross, Archie Johnston, John Hopkirk and George Mekle. Interment took place in Peoples Cemetery.

JAY - The funeral for Mrs. Lyman Jay was held Friday, Dec. 10, 1976 from the MacLean Funeral Home to Mt. Stewart United Church where service was conducted by Rev. Donald MacLennan. During the service the choir sang Amazing Grace and The Old Rugged Cross. Congregational hymn was Abide With Me. Organist was Roland Jay. Organizations in attendance were members of Highway Safety Division. Pallbearers were Mark Costello, Brian Stewart, Blair McIntyre, Carter Affleck, Miles Affleck and Joe MacMillan. Flowerbearers were Stacey Grant, Lelly Eldershaw, Trent Jay, Tracey Affleck, Kerry Affleck and Kim McIntyre. Interment took place in Mt. Stewart Cemetery.

BLANCHARD - The funeral of George Blanchard, 521 Water Street, Summerside was held Thursday from Rooney Funeral Home in Summerside to St. Paul's Church where funeral mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. by Rev. Vincent Murnaghan. St. Paul's Chruch Choir was under the direction of organist Mrs. Clarence Steele. Pallbearers were Jim Evans, Lawrence Gallant, Tanton MacNeill, Sylvain Richard, Gerald Perry and Leo Blanchard. Flowerbearers were Brenda Perry, Sherry Blanchard, Stella Perry, Cecilia Perry and Rose Marie Perry. On Wednesday evening the St. Thomas Aquinas Society held prayers at the funeral home in memory of the deceased under the direction of Rev. Pierre Arsenault. Emtombment was in St. Paul's Receiving Vault.

COLLINGS - The funeral of John Collings of Montague, formerly of Sturgeon, was held from the United Baptist Church, Sturgeon on Monday, Dec. 13. The service was conducted by Rev. Hardy Worden. The selection, In Times Like These, was sung by John Bears and the hymn Rock of Ages was sung by the congregation. Mrs. Vernon Johnston was organ accompanist. Pallbearers were James W. King, Douglas Collings, Lionel Collings, Jr., Chesley Price, Noel Condon and David Johnston. Flowerbearers were David Ready, Kelvin Collings, Jackie Collings and Kenneth Collings. Interment took place in the Sturgeon Cemetery.
