Charlottetown, Feby 19th, 1829

My Dear Sir,

After wishing you many returns of New Years, I have no news of any consequence to communicate to you. I came from Three Rivers last night, where I left Mrs. Augustine McDonald of Brudennel Pond and son Andrew Archibald in good health. Dr. Fraser was well last month also Rev. W. MacLeod on Bras d'or Lake. All your friends this way are in their usual way.

Colin Steele, Dugald Steele and John McKenzie of Three Rivers died this winter.

O I wish I had the pleasure of seeing you when on your visit our way. Father Fitzgerald has given, of his own notion and free will, of his charge. How soon I came to this house yesterday afternoon. He retired immediately, and I do not know what route he has taken. Some one has said he has gone to Walsh's, but I do not know, he said he would retire to Portugal, where he may have oranges and other good fruits.
